Last minute check :)

one thing I heard thou - is the fan at full tilt is loud on the toxic

I wouldn't know as not had it at 100% speed, in games/furmark it only gets to 50% tho the temps are in mid 80oCs so might set the fan to go a bit higher to see if can get the it into the 70oC. I will be going xfire once I get around to cleaning my pc and upgrading from q6600 to i2500k in the next couple of weeks so might notice the noise :)

All those leaks said late Q4 2011, so they will not be out next month. Most likely late November, mid December for low and mid range and early 2012 for high end.

Buy now and be happy. Can always sell the 6950 and still get a good price as the 7 series (as with all new releases) won't be cheap.

None of the leaks suggest low end first for AMD, none.

Great price for a great card. You shouldn't be disappointed!

There is always something around the corner. Ignore drunkenmaster, buy now and enjoy your new card.

There is most certainly NOT something new always around the corner.

In December last year, the new gen was out, and the next gen was a year away, 6 months ago the new gen had been out for 4 months and the nextgen was 7-8 months away, today, the current gen is approaching a year old and the new gen is a month, maybe two away.

Sorry but you're speaking crap, the new cards aren't far away and the value of the current cards isn't far away from plummeting.

Same way if you got a Sandybridge cpu in Jan, you'd be well over a year from Ivy, and almost 2 years from the next real architectural upgrade in Haswell, if you buy a Sandy a month before Haswell is out, you'd be mental, just like you'd be mental to buy a Phenom 2 today, but buying one 2 years ago made a lot of sense.

New stuff most certainly does not come out every month, and there most certain is very good, and truly awful times to buy.

This one does: http://wccftech.com/amds-generation-28nm-hd7000-series-southern-islands-graphic-cards-specs-leaked/

You seem to be very aggressive when people have a different opinion to yours. If people want to buy a GPU now and enjoy, whats the problem? The new GPU's will come out after all the major releases like BF3 and probably Skyrim, and everyone wants to play them when they come out.

probably this card

im going to wait till 2moro and see what deals they have before i decide

but i will be buying a new card 2moro

:)

Enjoy the purchase! Great cards these :)

Actually you'd find in two threads you came in to suggest I was completely wrong, with little proof.

Your OWN LINK suggest replacements for the cards in question will launch this year in Q4, which starts in, 3 weeks. So when a midrange card comes in with potentially quite a bit over 6970 performance, at significantly less power, you'd suggest buying an expensive higher power, noisier version of the card now.

Again that is, as you said a LEAK, from a site I've never heard of, while the single most accurate source on AMD info over the past 5 years, has been saying late Q3/early Q4 for a long time now and AMD themselves have said in no uncertain terms that GNC cards will be out THIS year.

Maybe they have slipped, maybe they haven't, I still wouldn't remotely buy a £200 card, when its 2 whole months maybe away from being replaced by a quieter, lower power, quite probably better performing and cheaper version.

BF3 and Skyrim aren't reasons to pee money down the drain. The closer the new cards the get the more often people will do "deals" to clear stocks before the new cards become available. So really the worst came to the worst, you'd get a better deal on a gpu closer to those games coming out anyway.... which what, are due out late October(assuming no slip in date).

That link says late Q4. Which ever way you look at it, that isn't October.

You still come across as very angry in your posts. Why can't you let people just be happy with their purchase?
