To cut a long story short, with problems at work I've decided to finally bite the bullet and do the computer science degree I should have done many years ago. Now with the motivation and abit of cash in my back pocket, I have applied via UCAS to Hull University for the course I want but can't find much information on deadlines etc.

On track (via the UCAS webby) it says "application sent for consideration" so I'm guessing it would have just told me if I was too late or not.

Anyone here in the same boat at the moment and any advice for me with the whole uni application process?

I assume this is for 2009 entry?

Best bet might be to actually phone the universities themselves, but I think some allow late entries.

Just got an automated email from hull uni with the dates on it, looks like I scraped by on the deadline by about 10 hours or something lol. Phew!

Deadline for this years application is 30th June

I graduate on the 14th of July from Hull uni, doing computer science :) have fun!

As for cutting it fine I applied to other uni's initally via UCAS, but then decided not to go to uni. Changed my mind again 2 weeks in to the semester (lectures start beginning of week 2), went in to the departmental office and asked to join the course. Easy as pie! Obviously a bums on seats jobbie

Nice! Did you enjoy the course?

I think your best bet is to go through clearing, you should be able to get a place somewhere.

And also...this thread has reminded me to send off my finance application!

Good luck to the op! Iv met a few people who have gone to hull to do that course (in a supprising variety of friendship groups) with one guy scoring a job as a games designer!

Sound advice.

To add:

On the departmental webpage there will be a number for the head of department or the departmental administrator or the admissions tutor.
If I were you I would phone one of these numbers (I'd go with the Admissions Tutor if the number is there, if not Head of Dept.) and whilst speaking clearly and politely (as I imagine most OcUKers do) explain your situation and ask them directly what they recommend.
Add that you would be willing to meet them in person if needs be and that you are available to do so.

Best of luck mate, hope that helps and hope you get into your course :)

You had loads of time left to decide, clearing runs up until september or something, I rang up my uni and said I decided I wanted to go there the day clearing ended.

Bah just got an email from the uni saying that the course is now full up and only accepting international students :(
