Latest iPad?

You might be right about the packaging I was thinking about online descriptions. I'm pretty sure above the barcode it will state something like iPad with Retina (WiFi or Cellular). As long as it has the correct name on the packaging it should be enough.

It does.

On my new iPad box it lists the contents on the back, of course it doesn't give the full technical spec other than capacity and type. However it does say that it contains the 'Lightning to USB cable' which is quite a clear indication that its the new one. Plus it also says the actual model number code.

That's not the specs though, the A6X was specifically mentioned. I know it lists accessories.

But yes, the fact it has a lightening adaptor would work too (unless you were totally confused and bought a mini instead ;))
