VM's email system runs off the Gmail engine (unless this has now changed).

Anything that begins 'Dear email address' goes down as a scam in my book. If it were genuine they'd know my name.

Did you let virgin know ? They ought to be able to apply a filter very quickly to stop that getting through to other customers.
