We use Dell tablets at work, despite me telling them not to, someone has updated theirs to Win 10 and is now complaining the battery only lasts a couple of hours instead of all day. Any idea where to start looking please?

It may settle down after a day or so, it could be that it is downloading updates in the background? Assuming your tablets are full windows, you can roll it back within 30 days

Cortana, as it's constantly listening in which sucks CPU cycles and would lead to an increase in battery usage (I think).

Had a similar thing on mine, turned out to be runtime broker hammering the CPU. Can't remember how I fixed it though, sorry.

Thanks guys. Irritatingly not heard a peep out of the user since. I had already disabled Cortana, sorry shoud have said!

A rolled out sysprep image of 10 is really, really slow for the first few logins, but it does settle down fairly quickly. If they're complaining about it after a single day then it might just go away, but if it's been doing this for a week then there is something up.

Interesting. I'm taking the "no news is good news" option as he's not resplying to my queries on how it's behaving!

Day off today and am updating the wife's laptop to 10 so will so how that behaves :)
