Launcher recommendation

No mentions of Apex yet, but that's what I've been using on my last 3 phones - S4, Note 4 and S8+.

Isn't Apex basically trash after the 4.0 update? Core features removed, removes settings on upgrade and includes a load of advertising.

Not too familiar with Android having had Windows phone for the last 6 years (7.8 through 10) although alongside that I've had a 1st Gen Moto G that I've played with quite a bit. It is generic Android though so I'm wondering how I'll get along with EMUI. Microsoft launcher tempts me for obvious reasons and there are launchers that make Android look like W10 but I won't go that route, better to make the break.

I came to Android after years on Windows Phone and really like the Microsoft Launcher. Obviously it ties in well with MS services but the only "usability" similarity to Windows Phone is the alphabetical list of apps rather than having them in grids of icons on various screens.

Nova all the way - used it for years, and haven't yet found anything that can replace it. Worth paying for too, as you can shrink the icon size, so they no longer look like they're on Nan resolution.
