Laurence Fox

I think part of the problem is people not reading beyond headlines. There were countless headlines about his apparent objection to the celebration of black history month and when you actually look at the details it was nothing of the sort. He objected specifically to Sainsburys' creating "safe spaces" for black employees. Is this really an appropriate thing to be doing? Is this what black people even want? I honestly don't know.

True.

Though I guess the question is why he had such a bee in his bonnet about it in the first place? It doesn't impact his life in any way. Nobody who is affected by these 'safe spaces' has complained about them.

It's all a bit like a young child declaring "I'll never come back and you'll miss me when I'm gone."

Apparently he's a "monster". Though again I'm not exactly sure why.

She seems to hate him but cannot articulate why. Usual stuff.

This was also cut from the edit where she referred to him as a racist bully.

Yasmin Alibhai-Brown is a disgusting dumpster fire of a human being, **** know how she gets so much air time for being an asian karen with a below avarage IQ

. . . bile.
Yeah, people endlessly reposting the same edited clip will hammer the point home.

I believe that in an ITV detective series that capitalised on the popularity of Colin Dexter and John Thaw's Inspector Morse, Fox played the part of a lapsed religious academic genius who had been to Cambridge University and risen to become a brilliant CID Detective Inspector (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sergeant_Hathaway).

There is something a little odd about casting him in that role when he was expelled from a top Public School before taking A-Levels and he never went to University (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laurence_Fox) - I guess it is a case of giving him a second chance ;)

E&OE - of course it is always possible that Wikipedia has got it all wrong and he hasn't got round to suing them yet :p

Yeah, and there's something very odd about casting Bruce Willis in Armageddon considering he's never been on a space mission.

WAT.

Ha I had that Jeremey Vine episode on in the background and they were both as bad as each other. The guy just comes across as a complete bell end to me, always sits there smirking.

For some reason most clips are missing the part where she calls him a racist bully. Fair play on him calling her out.
She drew first blood, but they both come across as nobs in this.

I'm going to sue you for calling me a racist bully - NOW APOLOGISEEEEE OR BE SUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEddddddduhuhuhuhuuuhuhhuhuhgnerrrr

Ffs :o

I suppose to a degree you do need to fight fire with fire. Try to deal with any bully in a civil manner and you'll get a kicking.

Another LOLStockhausen zinger.

There are literally dozens and dozens of clips from the very same show, which she is a part of, that shows her as the same bigotted vile self. If she objects to how she is portrayed then she wouldn't keep coming back.

She's a vile excuse of a human being and she's no better than the slim found at the bottom of a pond

He was teaching her that she can't go around throwing libelous labels around like the left love to do without consequences and you can tell she suddenly realized her mistake and tried to back-track a little. It was a teaching moment for her.

To me this is the core issue at the heart of so many political debates in that we're fundamentally unable to agree on the definition of "Equality" and how to achieve that!

That's the issue i take with so much anti-sexism/anti-racism/anti-whatever policy. Most of this legislation isn't actually about "equality" or creating a level playing field where everyone has equal opportunity to succeed based on their ability. It's about ensuring equality of outcome by enforcing preferential treatment for specific groups who claim they've been discriminated against by society.

Nobody seems to take into account that when you discriminate in favour of one group you're also discriminating against other groups. All we're achieving when we do this is creating division within society and stoking resentment against the preferentially treated groups.

I'm glad that political parties are beginning to highlight this issue.

Good post, well presented. But they don't, or don't want, to see this.
