lawn / beds / patio edging

I'm in the process of sorting out our garden and am after inspiration / tips for the best type of edging to sit between our lawn and the side beds.

Also in between the lawn and a circular patio. There's a 30cm border of pebbles around the patio, so something to sit between that and the lawn.

I was looking at this stuff for edging my lawn but since destroying my garden I'm looking more towards railway sleepers. Can pick some up cheap at the local railway yard instead of paying 20 - 30 quid for treated ones online.

Out of interest, how cheap and who do you approach to get these?


On topic, I like dark blue bricks bedded in edgeways, just roll the lawnmower wheel along one edge.

I was quoted £8 a sleeper. I know a guy who has something to do with the railway here so asked him to find out. He put me in touch with the guy in charge and I'm arranging to go and inspect them tomorrow to see if they're suitable.
