Lawsuit against Britain?

Yeah, this guy was on Radio 4 the other month.

He comes accross as serious as a heart attack.

I suspect he's a parody comedy character like Ali G.

The "facts" on their site are awesome, like how we apparently invented the machine gun (the Americans Mr. Gatling and Mr. Maxim would be spinning in their graves) and apparently we also invented the prison camp amongst other things. :D Oh, and the industrial revolution was a Bad Thing™, and we were also responsible for the black plague! :o

I read all the apparently bad things we done and just think the British Empire is pretty damn awesome.

It was a shipboard gun, and it was never produced anyway.

The first two generations of machine gun (the Gatling gun and the Maxim gun) were both American.

The Gatling gun was the first widely used machine gun, and that was all-American.

The first fully automatic "modern" machine gun was the Maxim. Maxim was living in Britain at the time, but was born in America so either way America was involved in some way.

Maxim was American but he was working for the British when he developed his weapon which was first used in capturing chunks of the British Empire

Guys it doesn't really matter, it'll never happen. Some of the things they are asking money for happened so long ago. It would us asking for reparations from the Norman invaders or the Vikings.

(I would say Romans, but thats hotly debated whether it was an invasion at all)

Gatling gun preceeded it anyway so it's a moot point. :)

Aye, and let's face it, we owe a lot to the Norman invaders and the Romans too (invaders or not.)

So maybe these people should be paying us. ;)

LMAO

Bad Inventions. Machine guns, slums, prisons, child labor, bad hygiene, the Black Plague, concentration camps, you name it. If it hurts people, the British probably came up with it.

How can you ''invent'' a plague?
Lmao bad hygiene.

The ppl who made that site, I feel sorry for them :D .

Also inventing machienes is a bad thing, right, if there weren't any machines there wouldnt be a website for them either.

we invented child labour (spell it the proper way with the U), awesome. My sprogs are going down the pits when they're 5.;)

Lets be honest, they turned up while we were still half-daubed in woad and we just went "Pardon? Oh, er...I think there is some space over there. Make yourself comfortable. Garibaldi?"

Kinda...some nations in Britain helped the Romans and some fought them. Like the Durogeians who had a fort near where i lived. They got pretty much wiped out.
