I am looking to run cat6 cabling from my house to my detached garage. That would me going under this pathway. I was watching video on YouTube of a guy using a flexible Auger drill bit to go under the path and then pulling the cables through using the bit.

Worth a go or should I just lift the slabs? Drill bit is about 30 quid.

I can answer this with some certainty that whichever method you chose, you'll wish you did the other one. ;)
What is access like from the sides to drill and pull? It might become one of those where you wish you just lifted the slabs and relayed. With an SDS drill with breaker bit, you could have the slabs removed in a couple of minutes.

I wouldn't bother tbh. Just nail it to fence; or rake that mortar out. I've had interior grade CAT5 outside for over 10 years without issue; so proper outdoor stuff will be fine unless someone whacks it with a spade.

was just thinking the exact same thing, seems like a lot of work when you could put it on the fence and wall like existing cables..

It's a lot easier to get damaged, accidental or otherwise, if it's just on the fence/wall. At least if it's buried there's some protection there.

I should have mentioned that is a gate rather than fence but just taking out the mortar would probably be sufficient.
