Recently bought a ds3 and a 6600 conroe, put it all together a it runs fine except the cpu fan does not rotate at start up. It tries to start up, does a few spins then stops. I have to restart the pc about three times then it spins all the time and doesn't stop and i have left it running for 12hrs+ without a problem, then if you turn it off for 5mins and turn it back on it does the same problem again. I have a 7900gtx so i thought it may be a power issue (480w Tagan) but i unplugged everything i could and it still did it, i even bought a 580w Tagan and still the same problem. Anyone had the same or any ideas?

turn on and leave to go through, is the fan still stopped? my cooler does the same, and i leave it, and by the time windows is bootings it running all the time. I think its just the DS3, and not a problem either. What cpu cooler are you using?

Its the stock cooler. I have started up and left it and windows will start up and go to desktop and the fan still wont be running!

Don't worry, it's normal I think.
The fan doesn't come on until the board thinks it is needed.
If you go to the BIOS and disable the auto fan control the fan will come on at startup. Most people seem to prefer setting the fan control settings to "legacy" and "PWM", from what I have read.
