Evening Gents,

Yesterday I received a Samsung 226BW. Great in every aspect except 1. I have a constant flicker which is giving me a slight head ache. I've got a brand new machine and running an 8800 GTS, which only has DVI out ports. I previously had an LG 1720B which I used on this machine via a VGA cable with a DVI converter. That worked fine.

So I was initially using the DVI cable supplied with the Sammy on my machine. Hardly noticeable at first, but I was most gaming or watching movies. Now I've used the monitor for 8-10 hrs and have deffinately noticed it especially on my desktop while playing poker. I thought it may be static so I looked for the degause option, is none. Auto adjust is not available via DVI. So I plugged in my known go VGA cable and run the auto adjust. Still present but not as frequent. Monitor running at 60hz

Any ideas, suggestions or software you could point me in the direction of?

I have a samsung monitor that kinda flickers.
I get white lines flashing across the screen (horizontal and vertical)
It got progressively worse and became almost 1/2 the screen turning whiteish.
RMA'd it and got another 1, its now just started to do the same >.<

(and our samsung tv was DOA then a sound card blew up on the second one - a common fault on them, not had a great experiance with samsung :( )

someone else had a flicker problem, it was because the cable connection wasnt fully screwed down.

Yeah, that was me. I'd double check that the connector is pushed in fully square and then tightened. Although I wouldn't expect the same thing to happen with 2 different connectors.

My viewsonic has a slight flicker on it, It reduced noticeably when I set it to 75hz. Contrary to popular belief LCD does flicker like CRT, just not as noticeably.
