LCD or Plasma

Yeah it annoys the hell out of me with my Samsung Plasma. But back when I bought it, there were no 24p capable TVs. When they started to creep out, I was like DAMN! Always is the way with technology though. :p

Always is the way with technology though. :p

yup :(

when i first got my 56" RP i played Scarface in 1080i60 and was blown away by the quality, until the "chainsaw scene" on the miami strip.....at the start of the scene they pan down from the hotel to the street and the judder there is amongst the worst you will see......it doesn't totally runi it but it leaves a bad taste - in general Scarface brings out the worst in judder :p

Have to be honest I didnt like the 24p with IFC tech, yes it smooths the image off, but the whole image seemed slightly unnatural/slimy to me. Its hard to describe, but it almost gave me a headache, but then everyone has different eyes, and I was quite close to the TV. Definately makes an improvement in the panning, but it just didnt quite jell with me.

Also, the new Incredible Hulk movie has some incredibly painful panning in the cinema atm, at the beginning when its the helicopter footage over the south american town rooftops, noticeable judder.

i think a lot of ppl prefer the 24p with IFC turned off from what i've read, the IFC is probably what you didn't like.......24p should provide a much better motion versus 3:2 @ 60hz.

aye it was the IFC I didn't like, I could definately see on some shots the benefit it did bring (huge smoothness boost for large panning shots), but on other shots it just gave me a headache.
(told the Panny Rep/Trainer that as well)

tbh even with occasional gaming use, its plasma hands down!

Freeview is just massively better on plasma over lcd imo because of the fluency of the image aswell as the PQ.
