I've had an ongoing dispute with my builder over how to fix this problem.
This is how the lead flashing looks today (full size image here - https://i.imgur.com/tURGUM8.jpg):
As you can see the lead flashing job is not exactly tidy...
The roofing company has suggested this approach:
"The roofer said he cannot simply remove the existing flashing and cut it in elsewhere due to the lead being fitted around the cavity tray. It’s tricky to explain but here goes, they will run a 12inch lead band at the same angle as the roof over the current wobbly line giving the impression of a straight set of stepped flashing"

I am not convinced this is the best solution here. Is there perhaps a better idea?
