Okay, so let me get this right. They beat everything in the FX range with the 9800 Pro, they beat (slightly but they did) the 6800 series with the X800 and X850 cards.
The X1800/X1900 cards are noisy but again, faster than the competition.
Now, they're late with the 2900, yes. And it's pants at launch. But they turn it around into a card that beats the 8800GTS 640, a card priced £55 higher. Sure, it's now been trounced by the 8800GT, but I think it's only fair to see what their answer is to this.
Unless you believe the random speculation and conjecture. "It's just a 2900 with a die shrink!!!" - Okay, prove it.
Oh, and I would like to add that the majority of the high-end graphics cards users had better hope ATi don't "lose the plot" - because if left with no competition, I dread to think what nVidia will do.
