Leafblower

Does anyone use a leafblower to clean dust out of their pc? I've been using air cans for the past year or so but it's just so expensive. Found a leafblower for £35 and was wondering if there are any side effects to using one?

Ive hear people use them before, just have to stand back a bit -

For no much more you can get a mini blows thats targeted at PC's and electronics. I'll see If i can find the name. Theres been a thread on here or bit-tech which mentioned them within the least 2-3 weeks.

lol no worries - I do loads of repairs for mates and family friends etc so I was intrested when i stumbled on it the other day. that can air ain't cheap!!

Indeed they aren't! I've found that mini blower for £60 off an american site including delivery to UK so may think about that one if it's safer than a leafblower.

Just get a 240v air bed pump does the job > £12 upwards, but look for one with good air pressure, using one myself pays for it self in no time.

This thread made me laugh man (in a good way) I have a Leafblower at home and almost p!***d myself the first time I used it as it blows SO HARD (wrong wording maybe) I couldn't imagine it would work too well blowing the crap out of a PC

I've got one of those, never used it for PC dust tho - just airbeds

I'll give that a try and see how well it does. Comes with a few size ends so the small one might be good for dust removal.

The air bed pumps that use batteries apparently will work quite well. I have ordered one anyway so will let you know in the next day or so.

Mines a mains powered thing, pretty small but it's powerful enough.

I would have thought it would be a little overpowered for cleaning a PC out.

Paint brush and compressed air does the job. If you have positive airflow through your case then dust should not be a big problem and just another thing for the wife/girl to clean now and again.

A hairdrier with the heat turned off would be sufficient. (I honestly just use the hoover)

Ive got one of those battery powered 12v pumps with a 12v car adapter wired up to a pc molex...

and to be honest its completely crap, so much so that i tend to use one of these instead....

but i see you talking about 240v air pumps Ive looked them up and the sidewinder 240v air pump look like its the one to get it comes in an standard 85w motor variant or a sidewinder sprint 210w motor variant for around £15 and £24 respectively.
i defiantly reckon its worth £24 as i fed up with cleaning out 4 machines each month with the bleedin hand pump

ah - that sidewinder one is what i've got... think mine is standard, I'll dig it out and check.

Can't remember how much I paid but it wasn't very much from the bay.

Hairdryers create static however. I know the old line 'I used it for years' but it only takes the once and then you need to replace the customers/mates component which is bad for your pocket.
