Looking for a new solo player (our usual, and a very good friend of mine, is heading away on holidays for 6 months), if you're interested come talk to me in mumble.

Finally giving this game a proper shot and I'm enjoying it. :D Played 3 games so far, all with Caitlyn who I really like. Does anyone wanna friend me and play? I've got a headset and I'll try my best not to suck! :p

tals gave me the mumble details, cheers. My in game name is Vivarium, I won't get to play much this weekend, though. :(

Played 8 games, 2 wins and 6 losses. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong? I almost always have the most creep kills and gold at the end of the game and I loosely follow solomid guides for items. It just seems like a lot of my team die really easily? I almost never die unless I make a silly mistake (facechecked bush for the first time, swiftly learned my lesson) or it's near the end where our base is getting spanked.

I'm just wondering if it's me or my team. :(
 
Sounds like the team - remember you're playing right at the start so most people don't know what they are doing. At this level you're most likely have a top lane of 2 a middle lane of 1 and a bottom lane of 2. The team shouldn't get to distracted in the laning stage and try and just get the last hit rather than first, hit second hit, third hit etc then last hit :) This saves the lane pushing, if you can you are also trying to stop your opponent last hitting by either some mild harrass or position. Even better is if you can move him away from the creeps totally and out of xp range. Be wary of misses and call misses as they occur.

Mid game you form more into a team and start roaming and ganking but the early game is is quite critical for you to be doing well on the farm (character dependant).

Also use the ping tool (alt left click or is it ctrl left click - mind has gone blank). A ping in a line down the river can indicate the direction of a missing enemy. On the enbemy is an indication you are about to gank or a reminder to the team he is there.


It's probably the team. One thing that will make a huge difference for a newish team is get wards up and running, ward placement (entry points down the river) can make a huge difference to visibility - though without the jungle only critical when the teams start roaming.
 
People end up just leaving their lanes and dying. They go for the glory kill, completely ignoring creeps. People often end the game with 0 kills and 10 deaths or 10 kills and 10 deaths, with hardly any creep kills.

For the last 2/3 games in a row I've been left on my own at top vs 2 champs and I just get beat. I ask for help but no one really bothers, or when they do show up they just die. :s

Fun game, but kinda frustrating.
 
At this stage just keep your cool - try and work with the team. If they rage ignore them, if the enemy team rages just do /ignore enemy

Biggest tip - try out those champions and get used to them :)
 
I think I just played my best game yet with Caitlyn. 4v5, for some reason one guy from our team didn't play at all the whole game, just sat at the spawn.

After 15 minutes I tell the team to just surrender, we were getting owned. Then for some reason everything clicked, I was farming better and pulling off awesome kills! I basically took down all of top on my own, destroyed 5 turrets, killed 5 champs, got 8 assists, 0 deaths. :D We all started ganking as a team towards the end of the game and just dominated their base.

I know I'm a noob, but that victory was so, so sweet. :cool:
 
I've just started playing last week or so, win about 25 games I think, mostly play with my friend as Taric or Jarvan, no idea how to use mumble or anything, halp? Anyone on for a few games now?

I've sent you the password, sounds like you and Sean should get together, it's quite difficult playing with +20's just because we have extra buffs which gives those with it an unfair advantage and it is better to experiment and enjoy the whole noobiness of the players
 
Stewy, you mean you actually play other games aside from FIFA? :D I'll play with you whenever you're on, add me: Vivarium.
