Quick question, should I leak test my water cooling loop with the PC components installed? Or should I leak test with just the water cooling bits in the case?

Very.

Build watercooled setup in place, short out ATX psu connector so the pump just runs, look for leaks.

I never leak test, if you take care and build it correctly you shouldn't get leaks.

I leak test with everthing inplace.

Pointless really leak testing a loop if you're going to be moving it around afterwards to fit hardware .

Short the PSU , have a quick look for obvious leaks , then away you go.

I've fitted lots of loops and have confidence in my builds , so i never leak test for more than about 2 minutes :D

The only leak testing I do is after putting the PC together in its entirety and turning it on for the first time.:D

Same here but I use 7/16" tube on 1/2" barbs and still put on jubilee clips for good measure (not needed but I have them lying around so why not)
