So I've just started filling my loop and the res inlet port is slowly leaking, I've already tried changing the fitting and o-ring, anyone got any ideas?

It wouldn't be because I'm using my fitting directly onto the port would it? Should I have used a 1/4 fitting and attached the 3/8 5/8 to that?

Have you attached the extender that was supplied with the res. I had same problem but when I attached the extender it stopped. Check the instructions that will confirm it.

Having read the installation manual I now see the error of my ways, thank you Viberious! Now to drain the loop enough to let me remove that without too much leakage

Also thank you NoName for your assistance :)

Just to confirm, I've now got the extender attached with my monsoon fitting going into it - no leaks so far, is it necessary to do 24 hours? I feel like if nothing has come up after 8 or so hours I'd be confident enough to plug in my components and play away

It very much a personal thing how long to leak test for.Personally if its not leaking after an hour i just fire it up :D

Yeah, I'll let it run overnight and give it a thorough check over in the morning - I've got the day off work so if nothing has leaked I'll put my brain to trying to remember how all the power cables connect up :D

So it isn't leaking anymore, it's just vibrating quite a bit making it loud and there seems to be something funky going on in the res?

Sounds like you got it set to full speed, turn it down to step 2 or 3,makes a big differnce to the noise and turbulance. Its normal to have bubbles in the res, after a few days of running they will reach the top of the res and dissapear :)

I think it may have ran dry whilst filling, only for a second or two. The sound isn't coming from vibration on the case as its only at step 2 and feeling the mesh it isn't vibrating that much, sounds more like something within the pump has broken

Edit: Ordered a new one off OcUK website, got the one currently installed from elsewhere. Will let you guys know how it goes with the new one when it turns up tomorrow.

You really should flood a pump before turning it on most people claim you will kill them near instantly not doing so, however im not sure of the time frame " instantly being " but i would think this could be a problem.

Also a video clip containing the sound may help? someone may be able to tell what it is

It wasn't intentionally ran dry - the first time I turned it on after filling the res it took longer than expected to turn off, wasn't instant when I flicked the PSU back off. Will upload a clip in a bit
