Hi all,

I'm going to have a couple of hours to kill around lunchtime in Leamington on Monday. Any good pubs near the train station for a bite to eat? How far away from the station is the main shopping area, or is there anything else I can wander about in to kill some time?

Ta,

MD

The main shopping area is about a 5-10 minute walk away and iirc its signposted and easy to follow. Coming out of the main station entrance turn left and there's a tunnel back under the tracks. Follow the path, cross the river, go through the park and head uphill.

I've no idea about places to eat though, despite living close by in Stratford I've only been into the centre a couple of times, and thats not for year or two!

PK!

Depends what you're after fella. Satchwells on Parade is a wetherspoons, and as such full of scummers day and night. The white horse at the top of town is really nice these days and has interesting beers and food, if a bit pricey.

Leam itself is really nice so wander around and enjoy yourself.

Yeah, theres the benjamin satchwell, not great. Typical 'spoons.

Quite a few places for food down the parade- if you want pubs theres the robben's well (scream pub) and the jug and jester (both of these are nearish the train station so convenient). Otherwise there is a pizza express, subway etc (last time I was up in leam was start of march so i'm going off memory here).

Coach and Horse used to be good; as did the Jug and Jester - but it's a while since I've been out that way.

K thanks gents; I'll keep those names in mind when wandering around. Mind you I get hungry quickly so I'll probably just end up in a burger king.
