Need to get some cover for my other half who is learning and wants to use my vehicle for some additional lessons with myself ( Pray4Me )

What are my options if anyone has recently got learner driver insurance, Admiral do a specific learner driver insurance - My vehicle is full comp with Priviledge but when phoning they were not very helpful just need someone for about 3 months for now.

Thanks buddy, I am afraid to count how much we £ have spent and makes sense to get her driving more frequently and her learner car is similar to mine.

Brave man.

Nothing to suggest. I personally wouldn't be sure i would have the patience, nerve or economical stability to teach my partner how to drive and come out of all that with both a license and a relationship. When I met my girlfriend she was a professional photographer and I had just started it as a hobby. I asked her to teach me and now i play tennis.

You can't have 2 active policies

Just tell priviledge you want to add an additional driver, be prepared for it to just up when partner passes tho

I spoke to Privilege and they can not add a learner driver as a additional driver. They said new learner driver only policy for other half.

As bad as it sounds I wouldn't tbh. Not sure if it's just me but when I and all my friends turned 17 to start to learn. Those that learned in there own cars took a lot longer to pass and tended to fail more. I only guess is you pick up bad habits not being taught by a professional as it's all about learning to pass your test not learning to drive.

By the time you factor in the cost of insuring her on your car with only a provisionally that cost would likely give her plenty of professional hours.

That and I don't think I'd have the patience to teach my other half. Granted she already "drives" now but she does so rather poorly sometimes.

Thanks for the info , as my parter is already learning this is just to get her some more experience driving a similar car before the main test in a few months

My wife used collingwood. Think it was £75 first month then £50 a month. Charged £25 to change the car as well.

But... That has now gone up slightly, I told her Friday about it and she is now doing the same thing. She said it was dearer but I can't remember by how much.

My wife is L and has her own £500 car, last year she insured via hastings for £77 a month with me added as a named driver.
This year through Admirals' Diamond for £44 a month with a year's no claims but still on a provisional license.
I was surprised how cheap the whole thing has been.
