Heres a little vid of my adventures learning to skydive in Florida last January. This is a full AFF and some of the A Licence jumps. I was well nervous, so I look pretty ridiculous until the end!! Feel free to have a laugh at my expense :D

Yes but it does make quite an embarrasing red splat if it goes wrong. :p

I'm still nervous and I've done 447 jumps! ;)

Great vid  MAkes me want to go out and do it right now... I should have brought my rig with me to Palma - it's gorgeous weather here, if a little windy though.

Whats the scariest jump?
Is it jump number 13 we you think "maybe i shouldnt do this"

Its the nerves that create the rush that makes people keep coming back for more :)
Though ive never skydived before, have fallen of a slippery dip though :p

Funnily enough a lot of "loads" (a plane load of jumpers) are called 12a and 12b, and then it goes onto 14! :p

I've had a few scary jumps, one I pulled a little low and worked out that I had about 15s left until I hit the ground. Another one I was blown off-course and we had had a bad spot, and I landed in field full of bulls which actually started to charge me! I did a slightly fast landing going with the wind instead of into the wind, and despite all my efforts I couldn't get the parachute to flare enough, so I skidded along the ground at around 40mph - fortunately it was pretty soft earth. Another one I came through a fence - did no damage to me, but left a "Will" shape hole in it! :p

This was all sub 100 jumps, so I was fairly novice - since then *touches wood* I've had pretty awesome landings. Some flashy, some just on target - that's my favourite game I'd get a friend to be ready on the PLA (landing area) with a can/bottle of beer (last jump of the day), and I'd get it so as I was slowing down at the last bit of my flare, I grab the can out of his hand! :D

We did our 13th on Friday the 13th. It was a full moon. Honestly. I've been jumping since in whats going to be my home dz for the next 6 months - reichenback switzerland. The scenery is awesome, and the fear is just some mild butterflies right now. It gets scary when you go on to learn new stuff up there.

skydiving is something i would love to do, can you do it in england?

Yes, just google for skydiving uk and it should bring up loads.

I skydive at Netheravon. Well, i've done one static line and my level1 freefall so far.

That looks amazing mate, it's something I've actually started saving for.

Quick question: On the 2nd jump your always reaching for the cord, you meant to do that or just scared :p

Nice vid by the way...I gotta stop watching all these jumping vids, I think I have over 10gb all from skydivingmovies :/ I was gonna do the RAPS but it works out much more expensive as I don't have a car to ge to the DZ and just the train/cab ride is around £40 :( Hopefully late August I will do it, but first I need a few sesions on a tunnel.

He's a chicken ;)

It's just so you know where the ripcord is at...I think!

Reaching for the "rip" cord is part of the AFF training. They have to show they can access it themselves and can find it. They have to do it 3x in the first 3 levels I believe - I did RAPS not AFF.

As for skydiving in the UK yes of course you can!! If I still had my instructor rating I could even train people on here! :p Unfortunately I don't jump that much anymore so I haven't reknewed my rating - though I could easily get it back if I wanted to.

Check out my thread (which I posted AGES ago): http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=89871&highlight=skydive

Feel free to get in touch (email in sig). Though I'm currently in Palma, but I'll have time to answer no doubt. :)
