    Hi,

Can anyone suggest some websites that teach the 'basics' of sqlserver and how to write sql code? Ideally with pics/videos or whatever.

The only one i know of is www.devguru.com for code reference. What im after is tutorials/lessons.

    Cheers.

    msdn.microsoft.com
    SQLServerCentral.com

microsoft's developer site is all you'll really ever need. any reason why you are learning on 2000? 2005 is where you should be starting if you don't have a legacy system to maintain.

    Precisely that reason.

I'd be interested in follow through tutorials for the basics of both 2000 and 2005 tho.

    Cheers.

    There's a decent + simple SQL tutorial at http://www.w3schools.com/sql/

For the SQLServer specifics best bet is probably msdn, as suggested, or getting a cheap SQLServer book that covers the basics
