Learning to tolerate contact lenses?

My lens prescription is too high for glasses, so I'm a permanent lens wearer (-26.5). The main thing you got to watch out for is dust. Dust in your eyes is uncomfortable anyway, but having a lens in it too somewhat intensifies it. It happens when e.g. a lorry drives past you and dust comes off that. The other thing is to carry artificial tears as your eye may become dry if you're using a computer.

Do you guys all take your lens out if you go swimming? Are there any out there that you can leave in?

Leave them in but wear goggles and they are fine.

As above, I leave my lens in and wear goggles. I can't see anything if my lens is out. I take it out when I sleep though. For showers, I just close my eye.

i've had that stinging no idea what causes it.

Only happens every now and again like extreme burning. I just yell and cuss until it goes away after about a minute orso.
