Least painful way to find a BF2 server

Yesterday i reinstalled BF2

Today i fired it up, sorted out the 100s of config options and messed about with bots till i was happy. Those silly bots they make me laugh.

Now ive already remembered why i hated this game, IT literaly takes me 10 minutes to find a server to play 1 frigging game.

Please help me ive already had to turn it off once today cos i cant hack that find a server screen.

few good servers are supersaver.co.uk 24/7 kark, any 50klicks server, or in search just type multiplay.co.uk and that will give a good selection of good servers. and add me to xfire i play a lot

It takes me five seconds to find a server, if that. I just type in "EA UK" or "BF2S" and then sort the list by number of players. I also use the favourite server function.

Well, to find 3 cracking servers, open up Multiplayer, and Connect to IP

85.236.101.109:16567 (if you like the plane whoring/tanking thing)

85.236.101.109:16667 (If you like the city maps type) (my favourite)

85.236.101.109:16767 (or if u bought AF)

Another vote for 50klicks....well i would wouldnt i.

Alternatively if you hate using the game's server browser then use a program called Qtracker. Its much more advanced than ingame browsers

You can also filter beyond what any game can do like only search servers that are in Europe for example.

jeez is this game playable with 1gb of ram

My system is ok 3700sd, 7800gtx but i jerk and lag all over the place. After a long load it takes about 3 mins for my PC to settle down to a point where i can start thinking about playing.

i tried a few multiplay servers the city only ones cos they are the best.

2 Gig makes a hell of a difference when it comes to BF2, no stuttering or faffing around when uve loaded, straight into the action. As for load times, i said bye bye to those when i bought a Raptor.

with a gig you will need to lower your settings or the start of any game will be terrible

Turn your textures setting down to medium, problem solved. High requires 1.5GB+ of system memory.

if u play the game on low graphics not only does the game run a lot better but im told some of the shrubs and stuff that would be their on high settings aren't

yep and if you reduce the shadows and lighting, buildings that are pitch dark on high are clear as day on low

If you are playing BF2 competitively I'd actually turn all the graphics settings down, you can see enemy players easier behind bushes and the like.

getting shot by people that do cartwheels and head over heels jumping what a load of poop,

i think ill stick to some mored skilled FPSs lol this is just a zerg

Everyone was using Support Machineguns, Did they get a mega Buff or something ??? they used to be pretty dismal.

Try a decent server where people dont hop around like bugs bunny and actually squad up and you may change your mind. As for skill, there IS a difference between skilled and unskilled players in Bf2. Find a weapon you are comfortable with (i currently have a love for the G3) and get used to shooting it. Bunny hopping and dolphin diving isnt so prevelant anymore, and the Support machine gun/prone wars thing is being removed.

Obviously playing on crap servers.

Don't hate the game, hate the players.
