Leather sofas at a reasonable price

Hi,

Im looking to buy two black leather sofas to put in the new house im getting, looking to spend around £550.

Does anyone know any stores in the Hertfordshire area or web sites that sell decent sofas?. The ones I like are all in the £700 area

don't go for anything with faux leather it's a cheaper undercut of leather that's treated to look like the top. Saying this though it is harder wearing

Yeah, pay anything more than half price and you've been scammed.

Seriously, local independents tend to have nicer/unique looking ones but I don't know the area. Sorry.

Is that £550 each or for both ?

If you are looking at £550 for both I would suggest you ditch the idea of getting leather, the quality will be dire at that price

Good god, you want leather for £550? Even if that's each, it will be crap!

I deal with a funiture company daily and they sell sofas for around a grand (at least! per sofa!). Top notch quality, using full hides and hand made.

You know this chinese rubbish is awful! They can take a whole hide and slice, yes SLICE it into 5. Whack it on a cotton backing and you have leather!

The other thing they do is, mash it up, then spray it on a backing, then get a roller to roll it flat. Yes, rubbish!

They are both officially leather, but lets face it, human skin is thicker and probably a damn site harder wearing!

For that budget, don't expect quality!

I bought 2 leather sofas from DFS, they were £499 each in a half price sale. They are in another sale now, not half price though so more expensive, believe it or not.
