Leaving BT...

1st issue was the cease charge - regardless of it being in the terms or not, I don't agree with it. I find it completely unnecessary and just another way to charge the customer when they shouldn't.

OR charge EVERYONE the same for a cease, because it involves a physical truck roll. In an ideal world we'd not need to send engineers out to do this, but in an ideal world we'd not need cables, it's fair to say we don't live in an ideal world.

2nd issue was they are trying to say i'm in a new 12 month contract from when I moved house in March.

You haven't indicated that they're charging you this, merely that it was stated on the call, but the only charge you mention is the cease. If you were subject to the new 12 month contract, then you need to have been informed about that at the point of placing the order, if you haven't then it's not retrospectively enforceable even if they send you a letter with the details. They'll listen to the call, pointless getting bent out of shape at this stage.

Either way the cease is owed, you may not like it, but you agreed to pay it when you took the service out, if you were that unhappy with BT you'd have dealt with it prior to moving surely?
