Leaving Sky BB (a positive experience)

Whenever I have to terminate a contract (especially with the major telecoms / mobile providers) I have that sense of dread that I'm going to be royally bent over and shafted for all sorts of costs. But I have to say hats off to Sky. I've been with them for only a short amount of time (like 5 months into a 12 month contact). I assumed they'd charge me for ~7 months of line rental and BB charges, but actually they're only going to charge me 35 quid (about a month and a half of my BB monthly bill), which I think is very fair.

I have to say Sky have been nothing but great in terms of their online support options, I've never had any issues with their router or broadband speeds. I've never experienced any throttling (tho I'm only on a 16 meg connection). So I tip my hat to Sky and say they have won over a sceptic and I'll certainly be returning to them when I can.

* Before any asks I don't work for Sky, but like to put something positive on the web when a company I thought would be horrendous actually turn out to be pretty awesome.

I agree, I had a similar experience with sky (tv side). Yes I was out of contract but always under the impression it's a full 31days regardless. I even got 81p credit.

Ditto, I moved from Sky in September to BT - purely for the a stonking cashback deal! The broadband was spot on, never any issues or slow down, full speeds 24/7.

When I switched, my next bill (kept TV) had a credit already done from the day I switched. With no other charges or notice period included.

I will also be switching back if I can get a good deal again, come September! :p
