LED headlamps

Currently looking at a Fiesta Titanium X and the possibility of the LED headlamps. Are these worth it for the ~£500 cost?

I've basically added every extra, it's my second car so want something with all the bells and whistles haha, I'm a software engineer by trade so like to have lots of toys to play with

Think I will add them then, any advice on getting a decent deal? Went into a dealer yesterday and the price they gave is pretty poor. I've got a better deal on the Titanium X (they only offered the Titanium) via CarWow, with all my specs added. Still around £19,500 though. Do you think I can do better than this?

I think it's because it has just been released, prices won't have much leeway I suspect.

What I mean sorry, is would you pay that for a Fiesta?

Just been on Drive the Deal and Coast2Coast cars and should be able to get one for around £17,500, a lot better than my initial quote. Anyone used either of these? I've been on Carwow as well and similar discounts although not as good.

If you are spending that sort of money have you looked at the new Polo GTI plus? They are that price on DTD with a lot of gadgets (as standard), a faster engine and stronger residuals.

Just had a look mate thanks. Seems like more for the same specs and insurance will be ridiculous.

Also, looks like you can only get it with an automatic?

Found out today I’m going to have to move insurance provider if I have LED headlights because Direct Line won’t insure me if I have them on a car. Admiral didn’t care and quoted the same price.

What, why? How would they even know? I've never been asked what type of headlights my car has.

Yeah they make you tell them about the spec of the car and any additions, even if they're from the factory

It does seem to vary from provider to provider. Admiral asked but it didn't change the price, Churchill wouldn't insure, Direct Line wouldn't insure (but would without the lights, engine didn't seem to make a difference to price, just the lights!), others were more expensive but they specified additions separately from those put in, in the factory.

To be honest, I thought the numberplate told the insurance company what the car had anyway.

I can only tell you what Direct Line said, I wanted a quote as an existing customer and that's what they said. I did spend 10 minutes arguing with them to no avail. It's fine, Admiral is the same price anyway.

You clearly made it sound like an aftermarket modification.

Given that nearly all new cars have LED headlights as standard these days, one of the largest insurance companies in this country won't be declining based on that.

I can assure you, I argued they were from the factory over and over and the guy would not budge.

Thats because he doesnt understand what hes selling. Every 5 series from 2013 has had LED lights and they will be insuring BMWs.

Sure but they're a default option, on some cars they're an optional extra, in this case they were.
