Hi guys ive never flown from here before, but we are next year. I want to park for a week, but will be staying at a hotel the night before. I don't want to use the sentinel parking as I don't want the stress of worrying about where the car will end up. Am I best just using a mid or long stay at the airport and walking to the hotel (I'm assuming the hotels don't use the main car parks as I couldn't see any mention of it).

Last time we went from there I just used the airport car park as there is a bus that goes round and drops you off at the main building, was simple as I’d paid online ANPR picked up our car on arrival and lifted the barrier

Does the hotel offer a room/parking package? Nothing is really within easy walking distance so I'd probably just use the long stay and get the bus.

It's only a small airport so expect complete chaos when you arrive.

I'm sure I could rent you my driveway for less than a week parking at LBA - only a 10 minute taxi ride away ;)

Cheers guys. There are 2 hotels near, but it sounds like they both move your car which I don't want to do. I used the multistorey at Manchester this year and that uses apnr. I agree it works really well.

I usually use the meet and greet parking. It’s slightly more expensive but you drive up to the front of the airport, they scan your car to get images to cover themselves/yourself, then you walk into the main building and drop your keys off. Then when you return your car is waiting for you outside the main door. They park the cars in the long stay, so you could also use that option but you don’t get the imaging/liability of the meet and greet.

They are used to high end cars, last time I used it in August there were a number of Range Rovers, a Maclaren, couple of Ferraris.

See I think the person that is taking a maclaren or a Ferrari to the airport, doesn't really worry about money. I just have heard a lot of horror stories (which I know is always going to be a minority).

I don't think the horror stories are usually about the official airport parking services - usually about dodgy third party parking companies.

I parked in the mid stay this year, it's quite a walk bare in mind, over very rough pavement and slopes, very different to Manchester Multistory which is a breeze. I wouldn't do it again. Pay extra for as close as possible or meet and greet, I think mine was the distance one.

There is a shuttle bus, did you not use that?
