Had a bit of a look on smoothhound and there are rooms available at The Golden Lion Hotel. Seems to be quite close to the city centre - anybody know if it's any good?
I want to get something booked fairly soon.

is the hilton full???

i work there so i might be able to free up some rooms

also try some of the other hotels PArk plaza crownplaza MArriot Queens Metropole Merrion .. there must be rooms some where

If you could that'd be nice :) Prefer to stay somewhere where there's others coming for this at.

I think I only need a single room, not sure if there's anyone spare if Roberta's staying with friends?

Does depend on how much it costs though as I'm on a rather tight budget :( If not then I'll have to go be nice to Roberta again or resort to a bath somewhere :D

Never stayed there but before you go booking in at an inn which appears rather grotty from the outside let me have a scout round. I'm looking right now (thats for you too Haly)

Laterooms are offering rooms in the Queens Hotel for £69. Thats for a twin, so if you could share it'd be half that.

I can't imagine you getting anywhere for less than that I'm afraid :(

[edit]Scratch that, a standard room is £50 for a single. And the Queens is right in the centre, but I'm still looking so don't book yet.

In case you didn't read my earlier post; I will be coming down on Friday, so will need hotel for Fri & Sat (18th & 19th).

Best I can find in the Hilton is £115 for a twin. So sharing would be half that.

If not sharing the Queens Hotel is far and away the best option through laterooms.

The Queens and the Hilton are on opposite sides of the Train Station, so there's no problem with you being stranded in town (the Queens is closer to the action than the Hilton so we can see you safely back and then go on to our hotel :)

Might just book it at the Queens but I'd like to meet up for brekky and face the music cause I always end up making an arse of myself some way or another.
 
Hilton booked for Friday 18th and Saturday 19th. Will get bus booked while I'm at it.

Talking of pints; any decent beer (not lager) down there, afraid I'm not very 'au fait' with english beer.

Tried to do it on the website the other day and it tried to stich me up on the price.
