Left 4 Dead

yeah thats nonsense. Source is a great game engine and age is irrelevant if it stands up to the competition.

And it doesn't. Which is why very, very few new games use it.
It's handling of meshes isn't as advanced as the newer engines, or even engines being developed by companies themselves, and it's quite clear from that video.

Everything is straight edges, there is very little in terms of 'exciting' geometry and I've seen a lot more of the game than just that video.

It is a game I'm most definitely looking forward to - just abit unsure what platform to get it for, PC or Console... :/

Definitely PC as its primarily multiplayer and Valve will continue to support it for free with new content - which based on experiance from the Orange Box won't happen on consoles.

Not to mention the potential for mods... and dedicated servers ;)

This game is going to be most excellent, can't wait to try it out.

What's so 'poor' about that??

Looks fine to me. Doesnt look outdated or poor..

Did you watch the video posted above?

The doort first and foremost was AWFUL, shoot the door in one place and it hits another... check the environment out, uninspiring, and poor.

I couldnt give a crap about the graphics not being cutting edge. Functional is fine with me as long as the gameplay is up to scratch and this looks like a great coop experience.

Oh no! the bullet hole didnt appear exactly where he shot the door?! i wont be buying this piece of crap then :s .

L4D looks like an cracking game. As far as I know we've never had a co-op game like this - the closest I can think of are Gauntlet and Sven co-op - and anything with zombies gets the thumbs up from me. Survivors vs. zombie bosses + zombie hordes is going to be awesome.
