Somewhere in the sprawling metropolis...
I've been building quite a few sleeper PCs lately for other people (cramming ridiculous stuff into non-descript HP/Dell/etc. officey cases) but I'm about ready to build something for myself that's a bit more aesthetically pleasing and lets me see what I just blew a fat chunk of change on.

Unfortunately due to the way my office is arranged the PC needs to be on my left which means I'll be looking at the "boring" side of whatever case I use unless I turn it sideways, but then all the cables sprouting out of the back will be visible and somewhat spoil the effect. Are there any cases out there that mount the motherboard "upside down" (i.e. PCIe slots at the top) so that the glass panel faces the other way? The closest I can find are a couple of models from Thermaltake (The Tower and some of the Level 20 variations) that mount it vertically which would also do, but they're a bit too busy for the look I'm after - I'm a fan of the understated simplicity of stuff like the NZXT H710 or Corsair Carbide. (And if it's available in white, even better!)

Just turn it sideways. That's what I've done, as my case is on the left, and you can't even see the rear I/O when you're sat down.
It also puts the front I/O closer to your work area, which works out quite nicely.

Some of Be Quiet's cases can be inverted, as can the Lian Li O11 Evo. They're probably your best best. Raijintek Thetis is another option, but it's quite a cramped case.

Ooh, I quite like the Lian-Li O11D Mini-S - looks nice and clean, not too big, and it almost has too many configuration options!

Sounds a bit like what I wanted to do. I went with the meshlicious, previous to this I had s bitfenix prodigy which can be inverted too.

Yup, that's pretty much what I'm going for, and for what looks like the same reason - the drawers on my desk are on the left so I have to sit at the right side of it!

Exactly, I also have another small PC on the opposite side, anything large blocks the door way to the right of the desk so the best place for it is on the left of the monitor. Plenty of room for a bigger PC but I've now got to accommodate a works laptop too.

Raijintek Thetis
Inverted and as compact as it gets for ATX.
But it is a tight fit inside, so won't look as clean.

Think you should go with that new LianLi Mini.

Can you post a link to the Lian Li case? I've had a bit of a look but can't see which one is being referred to.

Take a look at the Silverstone FT and Alta cases. Also the new NZXT H1 v2.
