Hi guys,

Bit of a rant but here goes.

I purchased the CoolIT vantage liquid cpu cooler, but due to work i didn't have time to fit it.

I decided to take my tower to a Computer shop called Microlink on Thursday 7th. They said they were fairly busy but said it should be ready for Tuesday or wednesday (which was the 12th - 13th).

Its now the 22nd and i still haven't recieved a call to say its ready. I phoned them yesterday and they said it was fitted but they had problems getting the side panel to fit with the pipes coming from the CPU block.

Do you guys think i should leave it a few more days? Or just phone up and tell them to leave it?

Over 2 weeks to fit a CPU cooler seems Extreme to me!

No............they were looking for an excuse as to why they bent your side panel and they're dragging their heels while they source a replacement. At least that's how I read it. Anyone want to rule that out as a possibility?

His sig doesn't list a case, but unless it was some really cheap thing made out of tin foil then I doubt this, if they have damaged anything they should do what any sensible company would and inform him of the damage and replace it ASAP.

Case is the Antec 900.

Not the smallest of cases.

I phoned again and they promised to phone me later today... We'll see.

You could drop in there on the way to get your chainsaw fixed...........in fact you could ask then if they'd like to take a look at it...........;):D

Yep, there's nothing like a personal visit to move things along.

I have an Antec 900 for my second PC, a monkey could put the side panel back on that, just go into the shop.

I fitted my CoolIT Eco in about ten minutes. Only problem was getting the side panel of my CM690-II to fit with the side fans fitted. Must have taken me at least another five minutes to fix that problem.

some wajum with a hand like a foot has made a right pigs ear of it and shorted summat out on your motherboard and they are trying to source parts to fix........:p obviously only joking

let us know the outcome

Not going to plug my shop here but its in Edinburgh, should have taken it to a "back street" outfit.

I would have had it in before you had got back in your car :)

Anyways, did you get it back yet?

And this is the reason why I always do all the upgrading building of my machines myself. I usually order the components when I know I have time to fit them or if they are on the one week special at OCUK, I will order them and leave to one side and fit when I get time. Dont really trust shops to work on my machines or many people for that....lol.

Same! One of the big pluses of doing it all yourself to be honest. You know exactly what's been done to the inside your computer, so you know who to blame if it all goes wrong! And if it does go wrong, it's a learning process at the very least (albeit an expensive one at times :p).
