I'm in need of a new mouse for general use and some gaming, but as I'm left handed my options seem limited.

I currently have the Razer Lachesis but it will often become very jerky/sluggish despite the latest firmware/drivers and setting tweaks.

I also had the Diamondback which had a squeaky button problem so I'm avoiding Razer now.

So any suggestions?

After some research, it seems there's not much to choose from if it's to do ok in gaming.
I might just try and adjust to right handed use!

I've been trying to get used to using my right hand on my Lachesis and it's ok but not very precise.
Just got a G5 and it's so much better! Just as easy as using my left now and very comfy!

Just buy a mouse that isn't ergonomically shaped to fit hands (i.e., one that has a uniform shape).

And switch the buttons around in Windows.

Leftie here, even though i'm right handed

...anyways went from:

Logitech MX510
Logitech MX518
Logitech G5 (Copper colour)
Razer Lachesis (supposedly ok for lefties, couldn't get on with it)
Logitech G5 (Blue colour)

Can't recommend the G5 enough, superb mouse.

So next question, Logitech MX518 or G5? Laser vs Optical.

Bizarrely I end up using my MX518 left handed for most things bar first person shooters [dont buy one - shoulder buttons are hopeless on the left hand]. I seem to have reached equilibrium with the old CarpelT, in that I use a mouse right handed at work, left at home, and its not getting any worse. Good job I'm no longer into twitch shooters these days.

My point is, is that it might benefit you training up your right hand for light mouse duty in the long run.
