Lefties

I think this thread will get quite argumentative in a few hours time, when all the Lefties wake up...

Yup, just shows you how single minded some people can be.

The 'lefties' people seem to bash on are on the more extreme side of things and even that lot don't go round encouraging tax leaches.

Tarring everyone with the same brush doesn't help.

'Lefty bloke at work is annoying, therefore all people on the left are annoying?'

Personally I'd say I'm in the centre. Some things I have a more right wing stance on and other times I have a more left wing stance.

I voted for Lib Dems last two elections. I think Corbyn is a very decent bloke and much more human than Cameron or Osbourne though.

This is pretty much me, except I've never voted. Corbyn is a breath of fresh air to UK politics to be honest. Labour were practically red Tories under that div we all know, Ed Miliband.

I think you'll find that I wasn't tarring anyone with any brush but rather trying to improve my understanding of this mindset. If it came across that way then apologies, that wasn't the intention of the OP. I did say in the very first sentence of the OP that
this is just to gain some insight

Hells bells.

What we want is middle ground, it cant be hard to do yet at least in the UK we always get extremes. Still sooner have Labour than the inbred conservatives and the evil they do.

Again, 1 piece news articles.....err wow.

The article you've posted show how much isn't being paid and it's a shocking amount.
The point stands that huge amounts go unpaid, but what amounts to sweet FA done about it as no one is pressuring the government, because all we're seeing it 1 piece articles that crop up every now and again. The amount false benefit claimants take is tiny compared to corporate tax evasion yet there are entire TV series highlighting the former & the odd newspaper article or single TV program highlighting the latter.

I'll admit I was exaggerating when I said "none", and I know arguing schematics & proving other posters comments as incorrect is what OcUK does best, but lets be honest for the amount evaded & owed there is a pitiful amount of coverage for.

yes you are by thinking that lefties have this mindset when in fact its just some people have a dogmatic view on things, be it left, right, animal libber, racist, Christian... what ever your flavor really, its the person and mindset not the actual leaning.

We have centrists. If you're under the impression that the Tories or New Labour are extremists, then you've a very warped view of reality. Even Corbyn's Labour is pretty moderate.

If anything, our problem is we are stuck with centrists.

Which is why I wanted to get a broader understanding of it. Which I'm now getting, so thanks :)

You are right, and that is one of the reasons that a lot of the Labour party don't like Corbyn - He's a 'lefty' and previously the Labour party were slightly left of centre and not really much different from the Conservatives, all things considered.

Green Party vs UKIP is more left vs right.

I agree nothing is being done and it should absolutely be clamped down on. What do you suggest? This is our world and we all have the power to influence it in some way (whether that's not using the services of a company we don't like or arranging a protest group)..
