I'm back baby!
What a prize ****.

I think he must be trying to engineer a move away from Arsenal, as he's IMO not been as good as Almunia for some time, he's had a suspect temperament since coming to England and now he's threatening Arsene if he doesn't play him!

The position Lehmann is in is all of his own doing.

Good good! More chance for Fabianski to move up the ranks then.

Shame he's such a gimp, because technically hes one of the best keepers.

Somewhat agree with you Gilly. 2B Frank, I think we've seen the last of him in an Arsenal shirt and the comments i've read recently are only going to persuade Arsene into getting rid of him.

He won't be that big of a loss, I don't think Almunia is going to be the answer to the number 1 shirt but is a very good replacement.

Lehmann is 38 and a liability with decisions and temprament.

He needs to accept that his time at the top is over, quite how he stayed 1st choice at Arsenal for so long is beyond me though as I think he's been a liabilty for a few years now, granted he's been part of some very good Arsenal sides but those sides would've been far better with a real world class 'keeper in them.
Shouldn't blackmail your manager though, bye crazy German:)

His best years are behind him that's for sure. Im sure Oliver Khan threatened the same thing with Bayern and they just called his bluff and he ended up knowing his rightful place in the pecking order.

To be fair Kahn was a different class. He was a legend.

Almunia has not yet showed that he can win matches for us

That's strange because by my calculations we've won (at least) the last 10 games he's played.
Whereas we didn't win the last game Lehmann played due to his **** up against Blackburn.

edit: Unlike some I actually think Lehmann is a good keeper in general, particularly in 2005-6 when he was arguably our best player. The problem is he has a terrible attitude and is a liability at times. He doesn't help himself either by making such a fuss over opposition players crowding him at set pieces, if he just got in with it instead of moaning then he wouldn't draw attention to it resulting in other teams doing it more and more.

Last season Almunia was phenomenal (yes, really) in the Carling cup and deserves his chance. It's his to throw away now.

He's a horrible little man, but he's a very, very good keeper, regardless of the past 6 month. I'm a fan of his, he gets under people's skin and make players feel very unconfortable.

The bloke has been a liability for a couple of seasons really, it's a shame as with a cooler head i think he'd easily still be number 1. Far too rash, a whinger and in his last few games very bad handling.

He's a great shot-stopper but I don't think he's all that really. He's certainly not streets ahead of Almunia who made some corking saves tonight.

I'm a massive fan of Lehmann, I think he's a top shot stopper, but irregardless of ability you can't have someone with that kind of attitude. That's one of the reasons Man Utd got rid of Van Nistelrooy.

He is still a class keeper, but his temperament has always let him down, but we could forgive that in the past, but now he's on a one year contract, his days are indeed numbered and it seems everyone realises that except Mad Jens.

Almunia is a good keeper and will do until Fabianski gets more experience.
