Lehman's save against Solskjaer last week

Pffft, I wanna see the video of him getting sparked in the face by the ball! :D

Good keeper in all honesty, but the guy is a **** :p

Not a top three keeper either in my opinion.

When I saw that Solskjaer save I was jumping round the room as I thought it had gone in. Sadly it had just rebounded off the water bottle next to the goal :(

All better than Lehman imo.

The only reason Lehman is no 1 for Germany is bacause Kahn is too old.

Actually Kahn is almost the same age as Lehman and,I think, that was where the rumours of their rivalry for the German position come from. If Kahn was "too old", he would have accepted handing in the place to someone younger but Lehman isnt.

They're in fact born in the same year, Kahn on the 15th of June 1969, Lehmann the 10th November 1969. Back your reasoning up first, then you know you won't look like a fool. :D

As i reiterated above,

All you have proved there is that they are the same age. The fact is that Kahn was Germanys number 1 up until a couple of years ago. When a keeper holds the number 1 jersey into his mid thirties it is quite obvious to see that the only reason he eventually loses it is for his age. That his replacement is almost as old as him only proves that there are no better younger keepers around.

This proves Lehman is the best keeper in the world does it?

Germany do actually have an excellent younger keeper in Timo Hildebrand. :p

I wouldn't swap Jens for anyone, he's the best keeper we have had in years. Anyone who doesn't rate him is a fool. Just watch the game from the weekend, nothing to do for 90 minutes, then pulls off a great save. I'd argue he is the 2nd best keeper Arsenal have ever had, and we have had some great keepers.

Legend. FACT

I don't think anyone is saying he isn't a decent keeper, just not the best in the world.

I do remember at one stage a couple of season ago he had become so erratic that he was replaced by Almunia and it looked like he might not play for Arsenal again.

That's beside the point once again and proves you wrong. As aforementioned, there are younger keepers available. You explained the reasoning behind Lehmann being Germany's no.1 is because of Kahn's age and being "old." Okay, but Lehmann is the same age and is as "old" as Lehmann, therefore you are trying to argue yourself out of a statement that is false anyway.

What, so being the World Cup XI and UEFA Champions League keeper of last season DOESN'T mean you are any good, nay World Class? Haha, you sir are truly ignorant.

So Kahn has declined with age and Lehmann has improved. It doesn't make him the best in the world, which was the claim.

He didn't say he wasn't any good, nor that he wasn't world class. Stop putting words into his mouth and stop being so offensive about it.

No, but being World Cup XI and UEFA Champs keeper last season DOES make him one of the best in the world, which was the claim.

I was putting a point across, to weigh towards the fact that Lehmann is good and is world class, i never said he was the one and only best as my previous posts indicate.

Was i being offensive, Oh.. sorry.

Once again your point is redundant. The fact is Lehaman was available for selection throughout the whole time that Kahn was number 1, yet Kahn was considered superior by more than one Germany manager. I myself have never rated Kahn anyway, but a number of people whos opinions actually matter do. Obviously whatever quality those people saw in Kahn was in decline by his mid thirties, causing the need for a replacement to be found. The best of which in their opinion is Lehman.

Lehamn being as old as Kahn is truly irrelevant. The point is Kahn is not considered to be as good now as he was at 30, age has caught up with him. Obviously the people who matter think that Lehman is as good now as he was at 30. There being other decent German keepers that are younger makes no difference whatsoever, age only comes into the picture when a players abilty to perform decreases. Some keepers can keep their performance levels high up to 40, some can't. It depends on each individual person, all humans are not exact copies of each other.

Do try and read posts before you make yourself look silly in future.

Finally some common sense.

And you summed up my whole point with just one line. Damn you. lol
