Lenovo P2 and Android Update Questions

Probably because the P2 works in exactly the same way on day 365 as it does on day 1 (bar slight battery degradation). But the French are suing apple because their iPhones work far slower on day 365 than they do on day 1 due to the deliberate and secret actions of Apple.

Where did you get the 365 day figure from because I think you've got that very wrong? An iPhone will work the same as on day one as soon as you replace a degraded battery. Apple can't defy the laws of physics in that regard.

365 was a a random figure, which of course you know. Let's double it then to 730 days. The same principle applies. But you know very well the point I am making. Lenovo are rubbish at updating their phone software. But that doesn't mean they could be sued for it. It works the same on day 730 as it did on day 1 (with the battery life reduction all devices experience - although with a 5100ma battery mine seems to be just as good a year after buying it). When people bought their iPhones that is what they expected, and at point of sale is what happened. But then Apple retrospectively and deliberately reduced the speed of their phones as they got older - without allowing their customers to choose to do so or even telling them until they were found out.

The two scenarios (not updating software vs downgrading a phone) are very, very different.

For the record in the last few years I have bought a P2 as well as three iPhones. So I am not a fanboy trying to defend either side.

But let's carry on this particular discussion in the main iPhone battery thread rather than derail this one. So let's take it over there.
