I run a T410 with an i5-560m CPU.

Using HWmonitor it quite regularly sit at 80c as it runs World Colmmunity Grid, now I have looked up the CPU and it appears the Tj is 105c.

So this looks fine?....or should I reduce the CPU usage in Bonic?

Any advice welcome.....

is the notebook actually properly hot to touch and pumping out very very hot air?

are you finding any problems or heat throttling?

HW monitors can over read, and if you are not experiencing problems then you don't really need to do anything.

v nice notebook btw

No I would say its OK.......sure it has hot air coming from the cooler but thats good......

I have set the fan to optimise performance and it seems to only start to really spin when it goes over 75c.

How do I spot throttling.........watching CPUID and seeing it fall below non turbo speed?

My desktop sits at 53c with CPU's at 100%.......so I suppose 80c - 85c sounds scary.

notbooks will run much hotter than desktops, simply because of the resticted air movement inside the chassis. the lenovo is quite a slim chassis.

unless you are experiencing slowdowns in applications or games or freezing and stuttering when tabbing etc then it is probably fine.

just run task manager and record / observe the cpu usage under performance tab.
