Lens for a flight in a Dragon Rapide

Agreed. Modern kit lenses are pretty comparable to expensive primes in terms of resolution and contrast. Bokeh is normally a little edgy, but then many fast prime are really ugly as well. Main difference with a kit lens is the slower aperture.
Exactly and shooting landscapes at f8 bokeh doesn't really factor!
 
I've flown on a Dragon Rapide twice and both times everyone was weighed and then told where to sit on the aircraft for weight and balance purposes.

I'd take the 200mm just in case you get put over/under the wings otherwise most of your shots will have the wing in them.
