X-factor haters should probably turn away...

It was raised on the show in-directly after the finals, and it's a question everyone has an opinion on and has thought about.

Personally I was pretty surprised people put Alex in the same league as Leona, in my opinion Leona is a super-star because of the depth to her voice and her personality. I thought Alex was great but I thought when Beyonce started singing next to her it was a quick reality check on what makes a superstar and what makes a talent competition winner. There's no doubt Leona is now a superstar, she's world-wide, but will Alex match/surpass that?

Alex has beaten Leona on the inital downloads for the debut single and obviously has a few million fans, there's something to her obviously. But comparing the two? Thoughts?

I hate X Factor so much I just bought Jeff Buckley "Hallelujah" on iTunes just for ***** and giggles! :D

They are totally different. Alex is a bit arrogant, but the show finishes this time of the year for a reason, if Leona (and her people) weren't confident that she was going to make Christmas no1 then they wouldn't have released the single now.

The Winner Song this year is boring :/

Leona has an excellent voice, but also has something about her voice that makes you want to listen. Alex has a different though equally good voice, but throughout the entire series lacked that something that made you want to listen. It was just pleasant background music at best.

Both outstanding talents but Leona walks it. She has more clarity, more range and is just the ballad singer out there that conveys emotion (something Alex doesn't do).

Alex is a great performer though.

I have two problems with The Winner's Song.

Firstly, it reminds me of the Peter Kay skit calling it TWS.

Secondly, no matter who sings it, I'm just hearing the version on "Shrek" in my head. John Cales ***.

I'd agree with this.

I'm a big fan of Leona and listen to Spirit a lot in the car :o Whilst Alex has got a decent voice I'm not sure that I'd be that interested in listening to her CD at all, didn't find her engaging enough.

As for the winner's song, Hallejulah is excellent! Loved Rufus Wainright's version and actually prefered JLS to Alex doing it on Saturday.

Leona has a truely exceptional voice up there with some of the greats. Alex has a great voice but nothing that makes her stand out from many of the singers who a couple of steps down the ladder from Leona etc.

Leona remains grounded and very likeable while I can see Alex turning into a diva very quickly.

All this.

It's easy to get caught up in the plaudits of the judges, thinking some of these people have amazing voices. But when Beyoncé came out and sang with Alex she was just at another level. Effortless and well-polished.

Leona is the same.

Let's be honest here.

Alex is more versatile. Leona's voice isn't really suited to uptempo material and her legs are so chunky you wouldn't want to watch her dancing about. Alex is one very sexy lady and in this image driven world I can imagine her doing even better than Leona in the USA.

Also, Alex's voice doesn't sound strained in full-voice mode. Listen to Leona- she has to flip into an annoying falsetto ALL THE TIME and when she actually has to sing a big bit in full voice, it sounds like a karaoke singer screeching and cracking. The bit near the end of "Run" is painful to hear.
