I'm going skiing next week (2nd April) to Les Arcs 2000 with 3 others. We are all intermediate-advanced level.

I'm wondering if anybody has any thoughts on whether the Paradiski pass is worth it? We don't mind doing the same runs a few times, I guess it just comes down to whether the snow is decent down the bottom runs of Les Arcs this time of year? Price difference is 40 euros each.

TBH, there is more than enough to do in just Les Arcs. I've been to that area a couple of times now and i when i went last, half the people in our chalet didn't even go over to La Plagne. The other half only went over to La Plagne because they didn't want to feel like they had wasted their money!

I was in Les Arcs a month ago, had very little snow on the bottom and didn't get a lot better up the top (bloody board ****ers!)

But the day we left, it had some good coverage which was a major kick in the balls!

Depends how quick you are and how much time you'll have on the slope. I haven't been there, but the 3 Valley Pass at Val Thrones did all that in a day (9am-4pm).

I went to Les Arcs 4 years ago about this time and the weather was bad on a few days so we had to stay in the basic areas, which got boring fast. I'm sure there is more to do if its decent.

I went to La Plagne recently and have been before too, great area with LOADS more runs than I remember in Les Arcs. Not many blacks but some very challenging reds and about a million blues some of which are great fun. I'd recommend going for 1 day at least.

Next time though I will try my hardest not to break my arm and concuss myself for 10 hours and lose a whole day out of my memory:mad:!

Please wear a helmet if you don't already!! I learned my lesson the hard way 2 weeks ago and will be paying it for another month at least! I'm never skipping on that ever again!

Agree with this. Don't know what would have done just after new year this year if I wasn't wearing one! Gave myself really bad whiplash for a couple of days!

I went to La Plagne last Jan and there was more than enough to keep 4 intermediate-to-advanced skiers (plus 3 beginners) busy for the week. We went over to La Plagne for one day but all thought it was rubbish in comparison!

????????

I went about 4 weeks ago and the snow was much better in Les Arcs. Also, the lifts are insanely slow in La Plagne. Having said that, the extra cost for the Paradiski pass was only about €30, so I thought it was definitely worth it, if you get bored after 6 days in the same place.
