Let's play guess the fault.

The problem with that FT02 case is the same issue I have with the one i'm using, the cabling that goes up the back of the motherboard seems to need more room than what is available.

I've not found that to be the case. Yes there could be more room, but if you add in some sticky-backed cable tie mounts, you'll be fine - I used half a dozen or so. (This was NOT the case for the FT05, BTW.)

Update time -

So,new case and new power supply all set up. All works until after bios, then I get a message stating no boot device is available. So I figured I'd try another ssd and install a fresh copy of windows, only it can't find the other ssd either. It can see the blu-Ray drive , but then all of a sudden it disappears from the bios menu. At this point I'm getting a little stressed so I grab a coffee and think about the problem for 20 minutes.

So, then I go back to the pc only for it to turn on for 1 second and then immediately turn itself off and it carries on unless I turn the PSU off manually. Now I'm totaly confused, but I figure it would be best to go back to basics. I removed the motherboard from the case and just install 1 stick of RAM, it starts normally. I then add a second stick and still no problem. Then, I add a video card and I run into the on/off loop problem. I take the video card out, but the problem remains. Take cmos batter out, try and turn it on, same problem. I take it back to 1 stick of ram, no change. I go grab another coffee....

Back to the pc, about 20 minutes later and it starts fine. Add another stick of ram, all is fine. This time I figure I'll use my other video card in a different video card slot, same problem happens again. I called OcUK, the guy I spoke to thinks it's probably a faulty motherboard which I have to agree with, though I confess to despairing a little at this point with my sulky brain telling me to sell it all and go buy a PS4. OcUK have sent an RMA number for the board which is about 6 months old, hopefully I'll have a replacement next week so I can give you all another exciting update:)

I don't see which motherboard you have, but have you checked for BIOS updates? Which BIOS version are you running just now?

Seeing as you don't have much to lose, I'd reflash the BIOS even if you're on the latest version. But do it like this:
1. Reset BIOS to defaults from BIOS, allow PC to restart and enter BIOS then turn off.
2. Unplug PSU from wall, press power switch on your PC case. Remove motherboard battery and put the jumper to clear the BIOS so it's clearing the BIOS - leave for 30 seconds.
3. Set jumper back to normal again, replace battery, plug PSU back into the wall, turn PC back on, enter BIOS and reset the BIOS back to defaults again.
4. Flash BIOS.
5. Repeat steps 1-3 again.

I have a MSI SLI PLUS board. It lets you change the bios to a back-up, which I tried but no luck. After spending hours on Saturday trying to get it to work and then taking the board out to send it back to OcUK, I had no more will left to try anything out.

I'll send the board back today, I was told I might well get a replacement sent out the day they receive it, so fingers crossed I can try it and update you all with good news in a couple of days.

It's alive, IT'S ALIVE!

So, yeah, got it sorted and it's working well. Ocuk replaced my motherboard very quickly (props to them, really sorted me out. Communication was not brilliant, but I got my board fast) and it worked first time.

The motherboard failure did corrupt my OS drive, so I needed to re-install. Also, randomly one of the SATA cables no longer works... But, everything seems fine now. I can't help but think that the problem may have started with the power supply, but I guess i'll never know now.

If Ocuk are reading, your prompt service was the difference between keeping me as a loyal customer and losing me. Thank you for replacing the board quickly, I have my eye on a new video card, either a 980Ti or 390x. When they are released I’ll be sure to place the order here.

Nice one. Thanks for all the updates too. :)
