Yeah just read back to make sense of what seems to be a £6k delta of his 3 series to a MINI.

I guess the only logic here is that he needs 5 seats when he says hatch and hence 5 door, but then he wouldnt have gone for a paceman, which mean he mayaswell spend half on an older car to save money like he suggests.....

Thats Mk2+. Got to say the R56 MCS out of warrenty with the N14, coking chain tensioner failing engine did concern me, hence happier at the time to get the revised N18 in a Countryman - plus needing 3 proper seats in the back. Guess the R56 MCS with N18 engines is now in reach.

One thing I noticed when looking at the costs of the Mini extended warranty is that it excludes engine coking.

The one we had didnt suffer with coking, although the tensior did give in at 32 k, but was replaced with a revised version under warranty.

The only real issue I had with the car that annoyed me was the way it ate discs and pads, I've never known a car like it.
