Let's talk suits...

king and allen that I linked to are bespoke with baste fitting etc. (unless you choose their bargain basement offer where the suit is still cut for you but you do not get a baste fitting and you have a choice of not terribly nice fabrics at that price point)

Good to know, do you have any experience with them?

The new cheap M&S washable ones from China are not nearly as good as the previous cheap M&S washable ones from Egypt. My latest has shrunk. I are not impress.

Im looking to buy my first proper suit for an up coming wedding and for future interviews.

Dont want to spend a ton so do you guys think this is suitable?

Are there any no no's to grey suits at weddings or interviews?

Grey is fine for almost all situations.

I know you don't want to, but seriously consider spending more. The most recent suit I got from M&S was this one (I'm wearing it as we speak)

Take a woman with you (not your mum) Pick the right woman. Mid 20's to mid 30's, attractive, works in the business environment would be a good start.
Wear a shirt and tie
Go and try a few suits on
Buy the one that the woman says looks best as long as it feels good to you too.

I nearly went for a cheaper one that I thought actually looked miles better on the rack, but when I tried it on in front of the Mrs and looked in the full length mirrors, it made me look like a twonk. So I upped my budget and got the one linked above. I've never tried on a suit under £100 that was worth bothering with (other than a dinner suit, but that's an entirely different ball game)

Good to know, do you have any experience with them?

Yep I have two suits from them and two overcoats too.

They are very good. Their cheapest materials are not very interesting and do not come with a baste fitting so wouldn't recommend going bargain basement but once you spend a bit more they offer some very nice materials significantly below normal bespoke prices

Nice people too

Mine have been £400 odd and £600ish (but very, very nice material for that one)
