so after losing my *cough* second*cough* wallet forgetting to zip up my pocket when on the motorway, it's time for a new one.

anyway got me thinking cause my wallet lives int he pocket of my leather jacket it nearly always gets soaking wet when i'm riding in the raid, so curious is there's any decent alternatives to he traditional leather wallet that might stand up to the abuse a bit more?

usual things in my wallet are about 8 cards and occasional some cash.

So show us all your wallets!

What are the little metal tin style wallets like?

Are they actually practical or do you spend ages fumbling to get stuff out?

They are totally practical. I'd say more practical than a wallet because they're more compact. Obviously there's a limit to how many cards you can carry.

I put it in my right pocket with my keys, with my phone in the other pocket. You can get noise from keys against the metal, kind of like having change in your pocket - but I have a club card key ring and that acts as a buffer.

I store:
- driving license id card
- debit card
- credit card
- 2-3 notes

If you under-fill it you get a little rattle as your cards move around, so you want to go to the cash point and get more notes if you spend them - or you can double fold the notes. I find that I use my credit card 90% of the time anyway.

To retrieve a card that's not the top card you take the top card and use the corner of it to lift the other cards - sounds more tricky then it is, it's very easy.

what wallet do you have?

I suppose in theory it could if you use a long chain, and I've been riding for donkey's years and it hasn't happened to me yet. *touches wooden desk* Mine is only about 8" though (just long enough that I can use the wallet without unclipping it).

might look at sewing a loop into the jacket pocket i could cli pa chain in then at least its hidden and not hanging.

I kick starter funded a wallet from here http://zenlet.co and I havent received it yet (should be a month or two! Been waiting since August...
(cost me about 30quid for one but I ordered two to Strap together... In retrospect prob only need 1)

Currently I use a marvel standard wallet thats been falling apart but I irregularly use cash and dont need all the card space. (will help make room for my big phone :p)

that actually looks very cool

Don't use wallets anymore, too bulky and I don't need anything in there on a daily basis. Just take my one card and some loose change on a daily basis with me.

between my jacket an my back pack i tend to have my life.

i like the ability to up and disappear for a weekend.

Any wallet will do... Although I do have one bit of advice for OP put the wallet in a place it's:

A. Not going to fall out of at High speed

&

B. Somewhere it can't easily be nicked as if it is in a place it'll fall out at high speed would you really notice if some ****hole does decide to nick it!

It was inside a zipped front pocket of a leather jacket that takes about 5 minutes fighting to get it out at rhe best of times....I just forgot to zip it back up then spent an hour on the motorway lol

Shirley it depends. Is most leather a byproduct of the food industry? What leather production isn't?

Is stingray skin a byproduct of the food industry? Or are they hunted primarily for it? If they're hunted primarily for it, is the meat used? Is it done sustainably? Etc.

You need to have the answers to those kinds of questions before being able to compare, no?

i thoghut he meant distasteful as in looks :p
