I have been looking into getting some new jeans, always wanted a pair of Levi's so their in the equation, but are their any other good brands of jeans i should look out for.

I really like the 504 Straight (Red Tab) in the lighter faded colour.

What other brands should i be looking at.

I only buy G-Star, not because I like the brand (its become really chavvy now) but because they have an awesome cut, always fit and are made from decent denim
 
I'm actually wearing river island jeans right now. Needed a pair quick at the weekend and river island was the only place locally. Good cut, style I was after and they were only £40. Not usually a fan of river island and I wouldn't wear most of the other stuff in there but don't rule them out. Have a look at superdry as well.
 
As well as the above, debenhams own brand jeans can be very reasonable and look good.

Red Herring is one of those brands, IIRC.
 
Buy whichever brand/style that fits you the best.

I have over 20 pairs of designer jeans but the ones that I wear most due to their excellent fit are my cheapest and only non designer pair. £25 from Uniqlo. Now on offer for £20 but unfortunately not stocked in my size otherwise I'd be buying a few more pairs.

Just go to a shop with a decent selection and see what suits you.
 
I have nothing but Levis, it does not help that in the USA outlet stores they are £15 or less a pair!

I seem to have loads of them!

527 are my favs.
