LF: Ideas on Colour Mod Graphics Card

Hey all,

I am waiting on my motherboard to be shipped before I start my build, but while I do wait I want to change something on my graphics card.

I currently have the EVGA GeForce GTX 580 DS SuperClocked which I absolutely love except for the blue strip and logo on it.

Since my theme is black/green I was wondering how I could change this without voiding warranty. At first I thought I could paint them, but imo that would void warranty. I then thought about placing green vinyl over the areas, but I cannot find anything that looks nvidia greenish. Can Google gurus find anything?

Lime green insulation tape should do the job there if you don't want to paint it

Finding some green vinyl is probably you best bet.

The apple green colour looks Nvidia like to me.

I would say that Nvidia green is close to the colour described as 'Yellow Green'. It's going to be close to that anyway.

Knowing the colour is sometimes the hardest part of item sourcing.

What about getting something relatively rigid, sticky on the one side and spraying it the correct colour and then applying.

I'd be tempted to cover more than just the one stripe though.

Yes, the apple green is not similar to Nvidia Green, the "Respro Hi-Viz Vinyl Sticker Sheet" is closer but not on the mark.

Will have to keep digging.

What motherboard are you going to be using? Id assume its going to have green detailing it would be better to match to this rather than nvidia green

I would say Nvidia colour is like an light apple or summerrt? LOL

according to here http://www.scribd.com/doc/20173/Brand-Identity-Nvidia the pantone colour is PMS 382 so if finding a colour matched vinyl or paint to that spec will give you the best colour match.

Having a look around no-where really sells precoloured to that. You are probably going to have to get a custom print done from somewhere like http://www.abalabels.co.uk/ not got a clue how much it would cost to print a sheet or if they even would but its worth enquiring

I don't think you'll find more than 4 memory slots on any Z68 board.

Hopefully it has more than 2 PCI-E lanes otherwise graphics cards will be crippled
