hello

Im literally one click away from ordering a LG 32 inch 2560x1440 Gsync 144hz monitor


I currently have the Asus PG278Q, i want to get the LG because its a bigger monitor, 32inches, but has the same tech as the Asus.

So my main question is has anyone gone from the 27 inch 1440p to the LG 32 inch 1440p?

I know its the same spec but Ive seen people say that the Asus looks sharper because its got more PPSI (pixels per square inch)

This apparently makes it less sharper than the Asus?

Basically the Asus also is a TN panel and the LG is a VA panel, i hear that the VA is better than the TN?

Do you think its a downgrade or a upgrade?
 
I went from a 27 inch IPS ASUS to the LG and it's a lot better. Only slightly less vibrant colours, but no BLB and the blacks are great in comparison.

Won't go back to IPS or TN now after trying a decent VA.

I was worried about the decrease in PPI too, but it's not too bad and am used to it now. Text isn't as sharp.

Overall the benefits outweigh the negatives for me and would recommend it.

P.S. My old ASUS was only 60Hz and didn't have GSYNC so I'm probably more impressed than someone who already has that would be.

hey man , i was desperately wanting to get this monitor, as soon as I had the funds OCUK run out of stock, im told they will never stock this item again, places in the USA are selling it for a obscene price of £800, so just by extreme luck I saw a bgrade going for £450 so I snapped it up immediately.

i bought it because exclusively of the 32 inch real estate and its matching the specs of the PG278Q

I m hoping that its perfect with no dead pixels ect, im pretty sure OCUK check stuff before placing it on b grade right?

Also did you get any cables with the monitor??

Lastly are u using the HDMI connection, planning to connect a console via HDMI and PC via DISPLAY port cable

I returned x2 of these, one with a stuck pixel and dust, and another one with dust under the panel. I expect these will make their way to B-Grade as they will certainly still sell them, just not as brand new. B-Grade CAN be perfect... i.e it could just be a damaged box, but you can certainly get monitors with dead/stuck pixels etc.
 
@hobib_ali I had to send mine back as well as there was a stuck and dead pixel in the middle of the screen. OCUK wouldn't accept it was a defect so wouldn't surprise me if they resold it as B grade.

They only received it from me on Wednesday.

Hope yours is another one. It would be taking the **** to resell something already knocked back by someone else.

Comes with HDMI, display port and USB 3 cables.

The German Rainforest has them for £670 if this one doesn't work out.
 
Also got a B-grade over a month ago: a stuck green pixel which I spot once every ten days (if you don't have OCDs a stuck pixel shouldn't be a big deal).

I had a BL32000PT, the first 32' VA and the upgrade was pretty amazing. This LG solves (or makes insignificant) all the VA panel issues, while retaining contrast and black level.
As far as I'm concerned (big monitor, 1440p, good contrast and 140+Hz) this is by far the best monitor on the market.

I would agree, IF you can get a good one. As mentioned, I had two defectives, and the second one I noticed had some quite bad pink shift on a white screen towards the bottom, which the first one didn't have.

Yeah, it's a great monitor if can get one free of faults. I could ignore a stuck/dead pixel in the corners or at the side, but had two in the centre close to one another so as soon as I opened any site with a white background they were noticeable right away.

Oh well, fingers crossed for my next one

That's got me abit worried.
If i bought a b grade which is customer returns then theres a very high chance that there maybe dead pixels, otherwise why would they return it?

Whats the return process of a b grade monitor?

B-Grade just needs to be operable. A monitor can absolutely have stuck/dead pixels, bleed, scuffs, scratches or missing accessories. That is exactly why you're able to pick one up at a sometimes very significant saving. However, it could also just be a damaged box and the product itself is perfect.

You can return a B-Grade item the same as you would a brand new one. CCR regs still apply, so 14-days no questions asked... you'd just have to pay for the cost of return. Unless it was truly faulty to the point of not working adequately... i.e not operable or not remotely fit for purpose. A stuck/dead pixel or two wouldn't qualify, but if half the screen were dead then obviously the cost of return would be covered by OCUK.

I understand, bgrade can be returned under the customers cost.

I ordered the item friday, im pretty sure it will arrive Tuesday, only because ive used my work address, im not at work tomorrow, can you see when it will come? If its due to be delivered tomorrow Saturday then im will call in to get it sent to my home address

Can you let me know??
 
Hello

I have never experienced a dead pixel, even after owning 3 monitors

Now is a dead pixel easily identifiable and is it serious enough to ruin your gaming and movie experience?

I don't know lol. They generally don't do Saturday delivery (DPD) unless you've paid extra for that, but may arrive Monday if it's gone out today. I always get text notification with a time slot with DPD, so hopefully you will get that.

It's up to you and their position - also whether they're stuck or dead pixels. I had stuck pixels on two monitors but I didn't focus on them and sometimes went weeks without noticing it.

The LG has a stuck pixel on a pretty central location, but it only appears with green shades of color. I haven't seen it in more than a week. Besides that the panel is perfect and for 450£ I can't complain.
 
well an overclockers staff member said to me that on B Grade items there is a no questions asked return policy for 2 weeks on OCUK B-Grade items

So when I receive the LG B-Grade 32GK850G monitor I will examine the monitor for defects, im hopeful that there will be no issues with it,

In the meantime ive cancelled the sale of my Asus PG288Q until im satified the LG is good to go.

oh yeas thats why i bought it immediately, 450 for somthing that was worth 800 on release

so what did you do after returning the LG monitor? did you get a working replacement or somthing else?

and im sure you had to return the monitor at your own cost?
